Quote Choice! (April 6th)

When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it? -Eleanor Roosevelt
The fact that Eleanor Roosevelt said that is just amazing. It makes the statement more important. Because she was the First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945. And she a wonderful woman!

Be the change!(April 5th)

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."  This statement is say that in order for us to have a changed or better world we have to change ourselves. Just like if you change your last name you are starting a new! People today always talk about the crime in the world and how much it needs to change. Well they need to change before the world can change. It's time for change but we need to change first. Before the world is rid of crime we need to be rid of our bad and wicked ways.

Oil Spills

How Much Oil Has Leaked Into the Gulf of Mexico?
An estimated 210,000 gallons (5,000 barrels) a day is coming from the remaining ruptures. At that rate, this leak will reach the 11 million gallons spilled by the Exxon Valdez in 1989 in mid-June if it's left unchecked. I think that if we continue to ignore this issue it will become a big problem, that we will not be able to fix. We need to fix this problem and we need to fix it now!

Tolerance!!

What is Tolerance?
Tolerance is a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one's own; freedom from bigotry.

5 ways we can promote tolerance:
  • By making a Facebook page to promote Tolerance.
  • By making a website for Tolerance.
  • By making posters for Tolerance.
  • By making a campaign for Tolerance.
  • By sending out letters about Tolerance.

Top city schools' criteria in flux?

When I first heard about this policy I thought it was just a joke. But now that I see that Dr. Ackerman is going through with this I need to speak my mind. If she goes through with this I know that there will be riots and strikes. I am all for building up the neighborhood schools. If we build up our neighborhood schools, our communities, our health services, and our jobs programs. Then we won't have to force special admissions schools to lower their standards.

Stand with Haiti

What happened in Haiti was tragic! I feel for the people there who have lost their family and friend to the earthquake. And for those who lost their arms and legs and what ever else they lost. And I commend that nurse who lost her sister and niece to the earthquake. She really could have just given up on life and helping people. But she didn't and I truly am grateful that people in Haiti have people like that there to stay and nurse them back to health.
